Data backup for institute servers
The backup runs via the client-server programme IBM Spectrum Protect (ISP).
ISP is a backup system that backs up file areas and makes no distinction between file systems (UNIX) or drives (Windows). ISP thus makes it possible to back up common Linux/UNIX, Windows and OSX systems.
For whom?
Institutes
Institutes can purchase an ISP licence to secure servers.
The annual cost is €15 per system plus €25 per terabyte.
What for?
Backup
The aim of the incremental backup (the partial backup) is to keep a true image of the file area in the backup system. Performing a backup means updating this image.
How does it work?
Acquiring a licence
Institute administrators purchase the licence via a software order form, which you can find in our HRZ-Doku.
