Data backup for institute servers
The data securing (backup) is done via the product Commvault in stores data at the RWTH Aachen.
Commvault is a modern backup system, which provides different security agents for the operating systems UNIX, MacOS and Windows.
Thereby, Commvault allows for securing Linux-/ UNIX, Windows and OSX systems.
For whom?
Institutes
Institutes can secure their server data.
What for?
Backup
The aim of the incremental backup (the partial backup) is to keep a true image of the file area in the backup system. Performing a backup means updating this image.
How does it work?
Application form
Institute administrators will need the role "DaSi Backup Admin", which you can apply for via the application form (DaSi) in our HRZ documentation1.
