The HRZ accepts hard drives from institutes for proper disposal in accordance with data protection regulations.
What for?
Secure storage
Hard drives at the IT Helpdesk are stored in a locked drop box. This is emptied at least once a week in order to deposit the hard drives in a locked cabinet in a room with restricted access until disposal.
Professional disposal
Disposal is carried out by a specialist company in accordance with a procedure agreed with the Data Protection Officer in accordance with DIN 66399 protection class 2, security level H4. The commissioning of the specialist company is carried out by Department 4.1, which also assumes the disposal costs. There are no costs for the institutes.
How does it work?
Up to 10 hard disks can be handed in at the IT Helpdesk during service hours without registration. If you wish to hand in a larger number of hard disks, please make an appointment in advance at betrieb@uni-bonn.de.
Delivery confirmation
If confirmation of the drop-off at the HRZ and the disposal procedure is desired, please bring the completed Hard Disk Disposal form with you to the drop-off.
